Chemex

Clean, bright coffee using the iconic Chemex brewer.

Ingredients

  • Coffee beans — 50-57g
  • Filtered water — 780g

Equipment

  • Stagg EKG Electric Kettle
  • Hario Scale
  • Ode Grinder
  • Chemex Brewer
  • Chemex Filters
  • Kinto Carafe

Instructions

  1. Heat filtered water to 201-205°F
  2. Grind coffee to drip-medium (Fellow Ode Grinder Level 6-7)
  3. Place Chemex filter in brewer and rinse with hot water
  4. Add coffee grounds and make a small well in the center
  5. Start with 100g bloom pour, wait 45 seconds
  6. Continue pouring in circular motions, maintaining water level
  7. Total brew time should be 5 minutes
  8. Remove filter and serve
